One of the things we are trying to do is ride the backroads and avoid the highways and freeways with their long flat straight slabs of concrete.
The hard part of doing this is that today we rode 200 miles yet if we had driven on the freeway we would have only had to travel 117 miles. Hum..
But see we would have missed the farmer plowing his field as the sun set behind him.
we would have missed great bbq and the Harley rider who made sure to tell us how great his Harley was compared to our Jap bikes, but then when we walked outside he ate crow as he had to ask us to push him to try and start his $20k bike. Meanwhile our $1500 bikes fired right up.
we saw people riding their 🚲 and they waved as we gracefully bent the motorcycles around corners, past trees, rivers, cows and deer.
freeways are fun but you get to really experience America and its people by taking backroads and slowing down.
so far so good and the bikes ran great today. Now we are in Mount Pleasant, Tx and stopped for the night and time for a cold beer.
Sooo much fun reading these!
